The Centrality of Reading

World Book Day is Thursday 5 March! Books offer the chance for people to learn, imagine new possibilities and shape their own futures. Please pick a loved book to bring in, and children are welcome to dress up as their favourite book character or wear pyjamas. Voluntary £1.00 donations will be welcome to support Book Aid International.
Last year our support helped purchase books for people in need across the world. We can’t wait to share in the love of Reading!

The Educational Research around Reading is really clear, for parents, carers and teachers alike.  It’s a key way in which we can support children in not only reaching their academic potential, but also increase mindfulness, reduce anxieties and prepare them for the challenges that growing up brings.

Here are links to lists of books that would provide adults with great texts to read with their children and, in so doing, support the pupils of our school in an enjoyable way.
