We are very proud that Our Lady of Lourdes School has contributed to the overall “Silver Gilt” judgment (78 out of 100 points) for Rottingdean Parish in this year’s Rottingdean in Bloom competition. We have received the judge’s report – extract here: “The judge was given a very comprehensive timetabled tour, with various stops around the parish. Firstly meeting the deputy head of Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School and a number of children who enthusiastically showed the judge the various elements of their extensive gardens. That includes the pond, a new shelter and a woodland area, both now used as outdoor classrooms, and insect hotel. The school has won a Silver Flag as an “Eco School”. It was good to hear that, as suggested last year, a schools’ Rottingdean in Boom (RIB) poster competition was held, with the winning poster used as this year’s logo for the Bloom campaign.”
